Introducing PhotoShelter’s newest AI product: TextID

All companies, no matter size or sales, share a unique problem they don’t know can be solved.

Whether you work for a food brand with an evolving product line, an entertainment group with event poster graphics and signage galore, or a skincare brand with a rotating cast of slick serums, it shouldn’t take three billable hours to search through the asset library and find the most impactful visuals to represent your message, story, or campaign. Searching your images for high-value keywords shouldn’t be a hassle, it should be automatic. Now, it is.

Meet PhotoShelter’s newest Artificial Intelligence product: TextID.

What’s New?

We’re on a mission to make manual metadata tagging obsolete. PhotoShelter’s current AI product suite: ObjectID, BrandID, RosterID, and PeopleID all work by using machine learning superpowers to scan images and automatically identify and add tags for objects, people, and brand marks. It just makes sense that you’d also be able to quickly search and sort through images that also have clear, brand-specific text on them too, right?

With TextID, you can now provide our system with a predetermined list of meaningful keywords so it can accurately recognize and automatically add tags to assets for easy and effortless searching and sharing.

The technical benefits?

Adding a list of campaign-related, industry-specific, niche, or made-up words results in highly accurate automated tags and relevant search results. No more wasting time scrolling through stock photography and disorganized media folders.

Imagine your social media lead being able to search and schedule assets from the latest product line by searching text on product labels. Imagine your paid media manager swiftly finding campaign-specific assets by searching for a combination of ad copy and the talent’s name featured in the ad campaign. When you combine the powers of artificial intelligence solutions like TextID and PeopleID on your media library. Stronger together! 🤝

Why TextID? Why Now?

At our core, our company values continue to drive our product innovation. With the release of TextID, our mission to build secure tools that help creative teams store, organize, and share assets effectively, easily, and successfully is crystallized.

PhotoShelter’s AI product suite automagically identifies and labels images with objects, people, brands, and now text to allow your team to get back to creating and sharing the stories that need to be told.

Honestly, we couldn’t summarize the value of automated AI tagging better than PhotoShelter’s VP of Product, Monika Smyczek:

“Artificial intelligence is a huge time-saver in the world of DAM and right now I would say the biggest impact of AI is tagging content with metadata. So, inside of your DAM, metadata is really important because without it, your content isn’t searchable and if it’s not searchable, it’s not discoverable and therefore, not really usable. So, you know, adding metadata manually is painful, it’s time-consuming, especially if you’re in a situation where you’ve got thousands of images coming in at a time. This is a large part of why we built PhotoShelter AI, so it sort of solves this painful problem by speeding up your workflow, automating your tagging, and helping you get your content out into the world faster.”
