5 Visual Content Tips to Learn from Stranger Things

1. Keep it simple.

The Stranger Things intro uses nothing but text and music, but it’s packed with feeling! It catches your eye, builds suspense, and makes your heart beat a little faster. Next time you’re looking for an idea for a video or a design, start with a feeling, and find a simple way to get your message across.

2. Unlock your curiosity door.

When you’re tasked with producing eye-catching visual content on a regular basis, you need to keep an open mind and keep your creative juices flowing. Make sure you’re consuming visual content from other teams so you know what works and what doesn’t. Get inspired by the work of people you admire. Need ideas? Next, experiment! Try out new formats or themes in your visual storytelling.

3. Your audience is hungry for content.

Just like Eleven can never get enough Eggos, your audience can never get enough content.

These days, audiences have an insatiable demand for content, and as marketers and creatives, we feed the beast. If you give your audience high quality visual content when they want it, they will not only consume it, but they’ll also share it with their friends. When you share the right content, in the right format, at the right time, the return on investment is huge.

4. Mornings are for coffee and contemplation.

You shouldn’t have to be bothered when you’re busy with things like coffee and contemplation. But too often, creative people are bombarded with image and file requests. Give everyone on your team easy access to the content they need, and make file requests self-service. That way, you can get back to focusing on what’s important.

5. You’re not crazy.

Working with so much visual content is messy, and sometimes, it can drive you crazy. You’ve probably spent hours looking for a photo you know you have. And as we know from Joyce Byers, all that searching can make you feel like you’re out of your mind.

But here’s the good news – we’ve got plenty of tips to help you streamline how you source, store, organize and share your visual assets. Sign up for our webinar, How to Prepare for the Visual Content Apocalypse!
