The Bowery Mission has helped vulnerable New Yorkers through every major crisis since 1879 – but the coronavirus crisis still brought new challenges. As New Yorkers began sheltering in place, The Bowery Mission shifted its operations overnight to give people in need a place to turn.
In this moment, Brand Marketing Supervisor Megan Moses knew it would be crucial to document The Bowery Mission’s incredible work. Her team came together virtually to make a plan. They would train staff members to take photos, and Megan would direct a video remotely.
Watch Megan’s fan favorite talk from The PhotoShelter Summit for Brands to see how she and her team have created moving, meaningful content that brings The Bowery Mission’s impact to life.

Love this one. This is one of my favorite Photoshelter posts of all time! What a great thing to be doing. Using photography, websites and social media to do good. One of the great things about this post is I like the way it combines old photos with new ones, which is the reality of being an archivist. and having an archive. Also liked real and natural Megan was. I remember seeing this one and her dog barking in the background upstairs. that’s the part that I really liked Absolutely no pretense, straight ahead. Bowery mission is a spectacular organization. How about doing a Photoshelter fundraiser to help them with their Thanksgiving dinner when they feed people in the streets of New York.
Great Work! Mark Mac Laren
